About Antonio
Antonio Urrutia is the founder and director of Antonio Urrutia Art, a contemporary art platform dedicated to fostering artistic exchange across cultures, disciplines, and geographies.
His approach to the visual arts has been shaped by a career spanning music, curation, and cultural programming. As a classical oboist, Urrutia has performed with leading orchestras and chamber ensembles, developing a deep appreciation for the ways artistic expression transcends disciplines and creates meaningful human connection.
That perspective expanded through his work at IlluminArts, where he leads interdisciplinary collaborations between music, museums, and cultural institutions, creating site-specific performances that bring visual art, history, and live performance into dialogue. These experiences have reinforced his belief that the most compelling artistic encounters emerge through thoughtful curation and collaboration.
Urrutia is also a member of the founding team of The Living Room Gallery, where he helps shape its curatorial vision while supporting the development of emerging artists. In addition, he collaborates with galleries and cultural organizations including La Cometa, La Bibi, Latinou, and Mahara + Co., advising on sales and programming.
Drawing on these experiences, Urrutia founded Antonio Urrutia Art to create new contexts for contemporary art through exhibitions, curatorial projects, and collaborations.
